USC Joins Kuali Student as a Founder

ITASCA, Ill -- The Kuali Foundation has announced the addition of three new investing partners in the Kuali community. The University of Southern California has become a major new investing partner in the Kuali Student System, and has announced a commitment of $5M to the project. Read the press release.

User Interface Technology Selection Completed | July 2008

The Kuali Student Board has approved the recommendation of Google Web Toolkit (GWT) as the User Interface technology. Kuali Student project has a higher need for a rich user interface than any other Kuali project because of the requirement to address the needs of the millennial students.

GWT was selected over the others in three areas: it automatically looks after browser compatibility, internationalization and accessibility requirements. All three areas are critical for the KS project. The User Interface Technology Selection document summarizes the selection process and discusses the choice of GWT.

Application and Technical Architecture Phase Completed

The Kuali Student Board has approved the final reports for Phase 1 of the project.

The Application Architecture Recommendation Report includes the results of identifying and analyzing the services that cut across business domains. The report includes recommendations for services to be examined further in the next phase as well as valuable insights into the collaboration process.

The Technical Architecture Report includes the results of the web services technology investigation used to define the Kuali Student SOA infrastructure.
